Big Tune: The Autumn Film: Roll Over Me

Ruckus favorite, The Autumn Film has released a track from their upcoming album The Ship and the Sea. "Roll Over Me" is deep and gorgeous and pretty much perfect. I have a feeling this album will be epic.

Telluride Bluegrass Festival 2010

We are incredibly excited about the announcement of the preliminary Telluride Bluegrass Festival 2010 lineup. Especially American Indie Favorites Josh Ritter as well as Mumford and Sons.

This all takes place June 17-20. Four day passes are available now. Single day passes will become available in the spring. For those of you who have never attended, this is an amazing experience. The festival grounds are just as amazing as they look.

American Indie Goes to Monolith: Day Two

So, yesterday(ish), we presented you with an overview of a few of our favorite bands who will be performing at this year's Monolith Festival on day one. As you probably already know (or for the lazy and uninformed), The fest takes place in Denver, CO over two days (September 12 and 13) at Red Rocks and features an incredible lineup of performances. We know that a lot of you are planning to be there, and since we like to do your work for you, here are some our favorite bands who will be performing on day two:

American Indie Goes to Monolith: Day One

Hey Colorado, we're going to Monolith Festival! Will you be there? The fest takes place at Red Rocks Ampitheater, one of the most spectacular venues you've ever set foot in (you already know that it's an American Indie favorite). The dates for this year's festival are September 12th and 13th, so you'll be able to experience some incredible bands in lovely fall weather. This year's lineup is amazing. Today and tomorrow, we're going to tell you which bands are our favorites (narrowing it down was brutal), and a bit about why we love them.

MONOLITH FESTIVAL: DAY ONE:

Upcoming Colorado Festivals

Folks Festival August 14th-16th: Last year I braved the rain to attend Folks Fest in Lyons, Colorado (about an hour outside of Denver), mostly to see my favorite act, Josh Ritter perform. This year, I will be out of town, but from the looks of the lineup, I will be missing out. Don't miss Rufus Wainwright, M. Ward, or Gillian Welch. The weather is a little cooler in Lyons than Denver (even without the rain), so you get a break from the classic festival summer heat. The backdrop is gorgeous and the scale isn't huge, so neither are the prices. The festival features one stage set right into nature with plenty of ground for people to settle on. The atmosphere is laid back, as one could imagine from the folk them and the mountain setting.



Monolith Festival September 13th-14th: The Monolith Festival is a two day event that features a variety of acts and takes place at Red Rocks, which speaks for itself. Headlining this year are the Yeah Yeah Yeahs and The Mars Volta. I will be there for a favorite of mine, Frightened Rabbit, M. Ward, and some of the great local acts that will be performing including Gregory Alan Isakov and Danielle Ate The Sandwich. Overall, the lineup is great, check it out.
