30 Days of Covers: Louis Collins

03 “Louis Collins” is a traditional murder ballad that’s been making the rounds in music for almost a hundred years now. There are versions by many artists floating around, but here are my two favorites.
First, Tin Horn Prayer screeches their way through the song with shouted vocals and stomping, appropriate of the subject matter.

Josh Ritter‘s version is a bit different. He combined the tale of Louis Collins and that of Stackalee into a “Folk Bloodbath”.
