30 Days of Covers: Dead Leaves and the Dirty Ground

08 I remember this floating around on the internet back when the internet wasn’t quite what it is today in terms of streaming/shared media. I believe the version I have is still ripped straight from the film (Om Gud Vill), but I can’t imagine it any other way after years of listening with the blip of dialogue at the beginning. Nina Persson‘s version of “Dead Leaves and the Dirty Ground” is pretty true to the original, but the soft, feminine vocals invoke a haunting vulnerability. The White Stripes‘ original is still a favorite, of course.

Definitely agree with you on that one! I’m a huge fan of The White Stripes, and am so excited for Jack’s solo release of “Blunderbuss” in April! I don’t know if you’ve heard any of his newer songs, but I definitely recommend listening to his new song “Love Interruption.” The video for it is great too!!
Such a ripping tune and how Almqvist puts that shredding voice of his makes me want to sing it back and grab a guitar to follow the song too.
OMG!!!!!I JUST LOVEE’ THE WHITE STRIPES!!!!!
DER’ EFFIN’ AWESOMEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
