Video: Have Gun Will Travel – Thirteen Miles To Empty

Have Gun Will Travel are one of my favorite local bands. They are Americana geniuses, and their live show is a party that cannot be missed. Their newest album, Mergers and Acquisitions (out now on Suburban Home) has been in constant rotation on my iPod for weeks now. Their video for “Thirteen Miles To Empty” features friend and Ruckus favorite Micah Schnabel of Two Cow Garage, and Devon Stuart from The Takers. It is funny and awesome.

As an aside, I like YouTube’s handy new “featured on” social networking thing, because it led me to this post by Jake Brown from Glorious Noise who said:

The vocals might seem a little put on at first, but they’re from Florida so I guess they can get away with singing like hillbillies.

To which I say hey, buddy, it’s Tampa Bay, not a backwoods north Florida swamp. Pert neer, but not plumb.
