The Switchboard Sessions has the great habit of capturing some of our favorite bands and recording them over a telephone line. Recently, he recorded The Promise Ring‘s Davey von Bohlen singing acoustic versions of Very Emergency‘s “Skips a Beat (Over You)” and Wood/Water‘s “Bread & Coffee,” along with Maritime’s “Call Me Home” and a Mark Mallman cover, “We Only Have Each Other in the Night”. These are beautifully lo-fi and achingly perfect and I love them. Listen to the two former here, and the two latter here.
