Photos: Emily Barker and the Red Clay Halo Tour Diary Part II
Written by Tiffiny // October 23, 2011 // Features, Photos // No comments
Here is the latest installment from Emily Barker and the Red Clay Halo from their UK tour diary.
I admit that I started keeping tabs on Emily Barker due to her work with Frank Turner, which is pretty much the point around which my world revolves. However, as with artists like Ben Marwood and Fake Problems I have no regrets. If you haven’t heard Emily’s music, you’re in for a treat. Like so much of the harmony-heavy, string based, folk style music that’s popular these days, she’ll be an easy fit in your life. Emily’s voice is strong and distinct, her songwriting full of soul and depth. She’s more than a passing fad- this is some brilliant music.
Emily Barker and the Red Clay Halo (consisting of Gill Sandell: accordion, piano, flute, backing vocals, percussion; Jo Silverston: cello, saw, backing vocals; Anna Jenkins: violin, backing vocals) will be embarking on a headline tour starting next week.
And did I mention the Frank Turner connection? Emily Barker and the Red Clay Halo will be supporting Mr. Turner and the Sleeping Souls on their UK dates in November as well as joining the band for the main set. I am almost reluctant to mention this, I’m so jealous. Get out there early and make sure to realize how lucky you are to see these amazing performances!
