Ivan & Alyosha – Fathers Be Kind
This EP is incredibly good, and completely worth your time (even if you’ve never heard any of Ivan & Alyosha’s songs before), so do yourselves a favor and download it, won’t you? I feel that I would be remiss in my duties as tastemaker if I didn’t hassle you about it, so go. Can you really pass up free music from a band who named themselves after Dostoyevsky characters and possess possibly the most gorgeous voices in modern folk rock? Exactly.
If you really want to do yourself a solid, go listen to Ivan & Alyosha on NPR’s Mountain Stage.

I agree, this really is a great EP. I bought it about a month ago at the suggestion (via twitter) of The Civil Wars, without even previewing it. I’ve probably had it on at least 10x since then and was thinking along your lines when I listened to it earlier today (a Noisetrade tweet reminded me to queue it up)–the voices are great, the lyrics are great. Hoping to catch them in a week or so in Dallas.
