We had a bit of a Ha Ha Tonka celebration here last week (check out our interview with Brian Roberts and review of Death of a Decade). To continue, here’s the pictures from their gig at the Hi-Dive in Denver last weekend. I hope you had as good of a time as I did.
The Hi-Dive was overflowing for a long night of very good music with openers Glowing House and Hoots and Hellmouth who both shared fun sets. Hoots and Hellmouth put on a particularly feel-good, high-energy performance.
The night was packed with new tracks, beginning with “Usual Suspects”, the first single from the brand new release Death of a Decade (out 4/5). Ha Ha Tonka also took us through old favorites like the sentimental “Close Every Valve to Your Bleeding Heart” and “St. Nick On The Fourth in a Fervor”, which will go down as one of my favorite moments of the year.

The traditional “Hangman” is always a delight, performed a capella with four part harmony. Denver locals Meese/The Centennial joined the stage for a bit along with a revisit of Hoots and Hellmouth for a hootenanny-style jam.
Ha Ha Tonka will be back in July for The UMS, which happens to be my favorite festival. See you there!
