So you already know how much we love Pezzettino's Margaret Stutt. And you also know how much we love Kickstarter in all its grassrootsy goodness and everything that it stands for (it helps our friends fund their projects in the most awesome, community-driven way possible)! For that reason, we are really (really) excited to tell you about Margaret's Kickstarter project to fund her new album, LubDub (on which she collaborated with hip-hop producer and multi-instrumentalist LMNtlyst - sweet!).
Here is the LubDub project on Kickstarter. We urge you to go there, read what Margaret has to say, and then become a backer. The reason that we feel so strongly about funding projects this way is that it gives people (us, and you, and that stranger over there) a way to be involved in the production of an album in a way that fans have never been a part of before. Instead of being a passive (though enthusiastic and awesome) listener who chucks $10 at a label (or downloads from the internet for free), you become an active part of this artist's incredibly hard work. It furthers the sense of community that we already have as music lovers, and confirms that you (yes, you) were part of the reason that this project came to fruition, while at the same time helping the artist to remain independent. Way to be!
But backing a project on Kickstarter isn't all for the emotional high you'll be on after you donate. For becoming a backer, you (yes, you) could be rewarded one of the following incentives:
GOODS include but are not limited to:
-Advance copies of the album
-Music available exclusively to Kickstarter donors
-Margaret's freaking DRESS!
SERVICES include but are not limited to:
-A Cover Video for the song of your choosing on YouTube
-A beat made just for you by LMNtlyst
-A private house concert by me for you
And of course there's more - just check out the project page for the full list, and help Margaret and LMNTlyst (and help us help them) make it happen!
Check out the official Pezzettino website here, and be on the lookout for our review of LubDub, and a new feature (with new photos and an interview!), both coming soon.
