People We Like: Adelaide’s Cape
I got my mitts on the newest EP by folksters Adelaide’s Cape recently. It’s a brilliant record, with gorgeous Folk tracks, it’s seriously well produced. ‘Girl of the Land’ is literally my theme song right now, if you see me on my morning commute tapping my fingers on the Tube handrail, I’m probably listening to this song. Adelaide’s Cape are fronted by Sam Taylor and the full band are Sam, Aaron, Danny, Paul & Mike. They are signed to Dustbowl Records and have recently supported Ruckus favourites, Alessi’s Ark on tour and have played with the mostly amazing, Pete Roe. If that’s not enough to convince you of their folk-worthiness, they have played the celebrated event that is Communion. Lucky me, I got to interview the lovely and very intelligent, Sam, earlier this month.
Full interview and live review coming soon but here’s a taster of what you really need to be listening to. Seriously, if you like the new folk genre that’s kicking about at the moment, you need to be going to see Adelaide’s Cape and listening to their EP. Myspace with all the usual details here.
