Television You’re Not Watching (But Should Be): Sons of Anarchy

One of my favorite shows begins its second season tomorrow, Sons of Anarchy. I started watching this show last year when a few of my (terribly intelligent) friends started raving about it. Of course they were right to rave; I fell in love with this program at episode one.
Created by Kurt Sutter, the dark drama follows the story of the outlaw motorcycle gang, the Sons of Anarchy. The show loosely follows the structure of Shakespeare’s Hamlet. Despite their own illegal activity, the Sons of Anarchy work to keep their town a safe and pleasant place to live, leading the viewer to side with the antiheroes. The show is definitely comparable to The Sopranos, but considerably less graphic (for those who are worried).
Last but not least, Sons of Anarchy features a stellar cast. Led by Charlie Hunnam, there isn’t a weak player in the group. Watch for the brilliant Katey Sagal and Kim Coates as well.

Tune in for the season two premier September 8th at 10 p.m. on FX.
